Nancy Wright became Lewisville Lake Symphony’s first Executive Director in 2024 after many years of involvement with the orchestra, first as a flutist playing with the orchestra and later as an active volunteer in many roles.

After earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in flute performance from the University of Houston and West Texas A&M, studying with Byron Hester and Gary Garner, she was active in the music world until deciding to segue to a career in business and was hired by IBM. There she worked until retirement in a variety of roles from technical support to project and people management. The combination of her music studies and business skills have enabled her to work with the symphony to enhance the breadth of program offerings and create an organizational structure for the all-volunteer workforce.
