Sitong Meng, pianist
Sitong Meng is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of North Texas, studying under the internationally renowned pianist and pedagogue Dr. Pamela Mia Paul. Her journey as a classical pianist has taken her across continents, shaped by years of rigorous training, meaningful collaborations, and a deep passion for music that continues to grow.
Originally from China, Sitong’s musical roots began at the Middle School Affiliated with the Shenyang Conservatory of Music, where she studied under Danwen Wei, himself a student of the legendary Vladimir Horowitz. Her early talent quickly gained recognition, leading to invitations to perform in some of China’s most prestigious events, including the Franz Liszt 200th Memorial Concert, the Future Star Concert at Liaoning Theatre, and the closing ceremony of the Beijing International Music Festival. She also made her international debut performing Mozart’s piano concerto with orchestra at the Perugia Music Festival in Italy.
Sitong went on to earn both her bachelor's and master's degrees with honors from the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in the UK, supported by a full scholarship. During her time

there, she performed extensively, from solo recitals at St Ann’s Church to chamber music festivals and the Russian Music Festival, where she presented Rachmaninoff’s Preludes. As a concerto finalist for three consecutive years and the 2016 winner, she had the honor of performing Bartók’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the RNCM Symphony Orchestra.
Her training also brought her to the Accademia Pianistica Imola in Italy, where she was accepted after a successful audition and worked with esteemed pianists Jin Ju and Stefano Fiuzzi.
Sitong’s artistry has been recognized on the international stage. She was selected by the Maria Canals International Piano Competition in 2016-17, a semi-finalist at the Jaén International Piano Competition, and was chosen for the Teresa Carreño International Master Piano Competition in 2023.
Now at UNT, Sitong continues to refine her craft, blending her rich international background with a fresh vision for performance, collaboration, and teaching. Whether on stage or in the studio, her goal remains the same: to make music that resonates, challenges, and inspires.
